In this oil painting class, we paint an Edward Seago study on an index card. The point of this class was to try working on a different surface (paper and gesso or just paper), and to study the colors, composition, and mark-making of a master artist.

In this lesson, we paint another still life pear, but we're focusing on subtle shifts in color and tone, creating an underpainting, and "losing & finding" edges.

In our other live classes, participants requested flowers and glass, so that’s what we did for this live class. We kept the flowers simple by using cherry blossoms in a small Victorian ink bottle.
